“The hardest race I’ve ever had”

With 23 Olympic gold medals under his belt Michael Phelps knows what it is to work hard but Sunday night at 8pm to kick off  ‘Shark Week’ on the Discovery Channel Phelps will be racing a great white shark.  A great white sharks speed is hard to measure because they don’t travel in a straight line, but it is estimated they can go as fast as 30 miles per hour. Ordinarily Phelps can achieve 5-6 miles per hour in a pool. For the race Phelps wore a sleek wetsuit and mono fin which will add a few miles per hour to his speed. Phelps on the race, “It was a tough race, probably the hardest race I’ve ever had.”
